Characters of A Good Man id Hard to Find A famous example of American literature is the short story known as â€Å"A Good Man Is Hard to Find†. The story was written by Flannery O’Connor in 1955. Flannery O’Connor was born Mary Flannery O’Connor in 1925. She was considered an important person in American literature, with credits for writing two novels, over 30 short stories and various reviews and commentaries on other written works. O’Connor was raised in the south in the Bible belt and these traits show within her works. Her writing style is considered Southern Gothic and often reflects her own views on ethics and morality. I think the author does a good job in her story by keeping the reader interested with a few twists and a dark albeit realistic tone. O’Connor does well at keeping the story â€Å"A Good Man is Hard to Find true to the genre. In this story O’Connor writes of several characters and each has their own role and purpose for being in the story and helping it move along. The story centers on this one’s family vacation trip to Florida that is cut short due to murder. The main characters in the story are Baily, his grandmother, his wife and children and the Misfit. The different character interactions between each other are what drives this story and explains to the reader what the different characters are thinking or how they feel.
